We are building a collective of like-minded women who share a genuine love for the world around us.Women who live where mountains meet.
We admire the work you have done to support artisan communities in Cambodia (especially women) through The Brave Collection. What advancements have you seen since you first started working with them?
Thank you! One of my favorite proof points of our impact is that so many of the female artisans we work with felt financially secure enough to grow their families—we had 7 pregnancies last year!
What advice would you give future entrepreneurs who want to launch their own socially or environmentally conscious brand?
Don’t worry about getting every detail 100% perfect at launch or you will never begin. Make the best conscious choices that you can from the start, and then always look for ways to improve.
You launched your company when you were very young and had no previous experience. What was the hardest lesson you learned in the process?
The toughest skill I had to learn was actually quite simple: perseverance. It takes an incredible amount of patience to make it through the ups and downs of starting something from scratch, and I realized what separates a great business idea from an actual business is really just perseverance.

If you didn’t live in Brooklyn, where would you live? “Los Angeles."
Favorite photo you’ve taken? “El Fenn Hotel, Morocco.”
How do you think we could all become better global citizens ?
Don’t accept the status quo because everyone else does, if a system, an industry or a company feels backwards or harmful to society it probably is. Every time you make a purchase you cast your vote on the kind of world you want to live in - so be thoughtful with that responsibility.
